PLASMA
The Plasma treatment used is an electric discharge, which is very similar to the phenomena of lightening.
A charge of approximately 10.000 – 15.000 V is applied to a high voltage electrode. Then arcing happens – the discharge to the opposite electrode (earthing) takes place.
It is our target, to have this discharge as homogeniously as possible in order to control the destructive power of the lightening. The high charge is under control and homogeny discharged, whereby the atmosphere next to the electric phenomena is being activated.
The wool is guided through this field of activated atmosphere, between the electrodes. Within this the material gets oxidised on its surface.
Through this modification of the surface the preparation for the end results is achieved: Reduction of Felting.
